My research "Negotiation Skill"

So far so good.... Actually, I do not know how much I have left about my main idea. I need to see the number of pages i have written and i will write. There are too many strategies and now i am trying to choose the one that we can adapt to use in our lives in some situation. And of course i want to talk about the qualities and skill needed to be a suceesful negotiator. But we can write about 15 pages and we have a limit time.

Anyway I feel motivated to work on this topic. It is interesting. We will see.... Good luch everyone.

My mathematics literacy

During the time in grade 1 in Elementary school, students had to sleep after having lunch 2 hours later. I often was woken up by my teacher. She asked me to correct the error of mathematics homework. Then, I tried hard to revise it. Also, I was sometimes punished not to do the homework because I hated it. I did not pay attention at all in the class. I really neded help; otherwise, I would be punished by standing outside the class with one leg for 1 hour. As a result, I had to ask my older brother to teach me how to solve the mathematics question. It was very easy, but I could not do it at all. I was upset because he did not help me anything. Thus, when I went school, I had to wake up during that time again and again. Finally, by the end of the session, I got the grade which was lower than 50%. My parents knew about my problem, but they did not have time to help me.

Then, during vacation, I had been living with my aunt, my brothers, and my cousins for 3 months in other city. We all had to play a role as students and my aunt had to be a teacher for mathematics. There was the rule that if the person got the worst grade for all of us, one had to clean the bathroom which no one desired to do. We did a lot of quiz. After that, my aunt evaluated from all the quiz and calculate the point out of 100. I was so happy that I was not the worst one. And the fact that my aunt played this game is that I could improve my mathematics. It was fun, and I learnt a lot of technique of solving the mathematics questions.

Once the new session had started, I never was woken up again. I did well for my mathematics subjects. And I loved studying mathematics. I got the top grade in the class almost every session. This is how I had mathematics literacy.

The World Population

I feel optimistic about the future in terms ofpopulation in many aspects. First, our quality of life have been improving because the advance of technological medicine. People are living longer in their life time than in the past. According to the video of world population, the life expectancy in Japan of men and women are higher because people care about how they are living in reality. Second, since the rising number of population leads to many problems, all countries realize the problems and they will have to collaborate one another. That is, the rich countryes can support and help the poor countries. The poor countries having natural resourses will be sacrified for distributing those resourses to the rich countries in many ways which depend on their negotiations. So, they are all together to improve the problems.

I feel pessimistic about the outcome of the boom population in the world. This is because our food supply are limited and not balanced with the whole population. We would be starving in the future. Another reason is that I do not agree with abortion for sex selection. It is so awful. We need to care about the babies being born in the future, but they have no chance to choose. Last, the problem of prostitution is caught my attention. The prostitutes should think about after having sex with many men. They could contract the HIV/AIDS. Even worse if their children cold get infection from their mother.

What should be done for the world poplation has many aspcts. First, people should be educated in order to be cometent. Then, when they are entering labor force, they will be able to work effectively. And companies will improve their productivuty. Secoond, Family plan campaign should be launched in all part of the world, so the number of population will be slower. Third, government has to be a part of this problem to support all the infrastruture and other service that can boost people' life. Last, donation is a great deal concean of the problem. The rich coountries should donate some money to help their neigubour. People should care about people.

Improving Academic Performance

Having read this article, I found it was so interesting. I definitely agree with all the points. When I was a freshman in University, I was absence in chemical class often just because I did not like the teaching method of my teacher. I understood nothing every time when I attended the class. As a result, I got D which was the worst grade. I crammed before I had exam. It did not work. Because of that subject, I changed the way of my studying. I found the way to improve my studying technique on my own experience. I attended class often and took notes in my own words. It was so useful that I did not need to study hard before I had final exam. And the most important things was that teachers always emphasie which part was important, so I focus on that chapter a lot, highlighted the main ideas, and did my short note before having exam. While I was doing the final exam, I was smiling and was able to do all the questions very easy. I realized that the questions that were asked were described in the class. So my notes was so helpful. I got very good grades throught all subjects. But I still had a problem with time during pursuing my degree. I found that i spent too much time to make my notes and then i did not look at them as much as i had spent my time to take notes. It was useful obviously, but i did not have time to award myself that much. I sometimes rote. And that was very time consuming, then, some chapthers I did not have time to memorized. I was so upset becuase I the chapters i did not read was on the exam. However, I did learn improving acdemic strategies and adapt it for myself. I feel comfortalble but the thing is I am lazy sometimes and I am distracted by too many temptations at home and with friends...... It is still OK... I got my schedule to remind me.

Male - Female communication

This is an interesting topic. We knew that men and wemen speak equally, but the style and the way female get conversation across are different from male do. I think it is definitely true. I always saw my brothers and almost all my male friends talk about general topic. I really do not understand why they do not want to talk about themselves or why they do not express thier feeling. ALWAYS say "It is OK". Male are really afarid of being interior, and they do not accept that female do better than male. I think they have too much self-esteem. To contrast, female communicate by sharing, understanding, and support. Female accept people's idea and share their own idea.

In my point of view, I like how he opened the topic by giving the joke. Then, this lecture was presented too fast and too long. Also, he moved his position too much. As a result, I felt too tired to concentrate on the lecture. However, general idea of the topis was understood well. The lecturer organized the idea very well and explain clear enough.

I have a question about the example in the last part of lecture. It is about how male and female communicate in the workplace. We knew they both communicate in different style, but in reality the style they act has influence themself a lot in the world of business. Male always react strongly, no harmony nor negotiation, but do male think that their employees might be suffering becuase of the boss' s language? Of course, no company would want to lose their valuable employees. Therefore, Are male going to change the way they communicte to thier subordinate in order to retain the employee' s feeling and their idea?

Summary of Negotiating skill

Negotiating skill is needed for many parties. This is because when there are 2 groups with differing idea or interest, the conflict occur. It is important that both side try to find the acceptable solution.

Most salespeople and business owners are dealing with the conflict everyday. It is important to learn how to negotiate more effectively. Therefore, strategies are needed to help negotiators improve their negotiation skills and make the profit from the advantage of negotiation and the ability

Happiness

Happiness occurs when people have love. People are happy when they are suceessful in their work or thier goal. Happiness has influence to ourselves. It can make us striking because the characteristic of happiness is liveliness, enjoyable, or laughing. When we are happy, everything seems to be easy. We want to joy or participate in any situation. However, I think happiness does not come easily because we live the high competitive world and because each person is not the same. Some people are outgoing, so they experince various things. They can seek happiness or they can avoid sadness. On the other hand, shy people are missing alot of things in thier life. They coward to do the things they never do before. This is because they fear of fail. They do not experience even happiness. It does not need t be that way. Some shy people are happy to be themself. I think happiness depends on individual's satisfaction. But people never feel satisfied of themself.When they reach their first goal, they struggle to grab another goal. That is, they are happy with their first success and they are not really happy because they have to compete with other people or even themself.

Happiness comes and go often in our lives. The important thing is who can keep it longer or who know the significance of it. Happiness might affect to your job opportunity as well. No company would choose unhappy people to be a part of their company. It is believed that happy people have socialization skill.

Happiness is to do activity with family and friends. Happiness is to do hobby. It is hard to explain because happiness is a definition of individuals setting on their own.
